IK summoned by banking court for unauthorised funding charge.

Imran-Khan-Jan-4

In the banned funding case against Imran Khan, a banking court in Islamabad summoned him on February 28.

Rukhshanda Shaheen ruled over the Foreign Exchange Act prohibited funding case against the former premier and other PTI leaders.

Today, Imran’s lawyers presented the Islamabad High Court (IHC) order to the court.

The court ordered Imran to appear on February 28 under the IHC’s prior judgement. The hearing was postponed.

Imran had already requested a letter recording his statement from the restricted funding case investigation officer.

He wrote that he was charged “without inquiry” and assassinated during the march to Islamabad.

Imran was hospitalised with bullet wounds and a lawsuit was filed.

On Dec 3, Jan 30, and Feb 4, Imran wrote to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) requesting a video link or letter to record his statement.

The former prime minister said he asked the FIA to investigate in Lahore and the agency pledged the banking court to assist.

He said the FIA did not cooperate after numerous pleas.

He stated that several courts, including the Islamabad High Court (IHC), found his medical reports acceptable. The former premier said the agency followed federal orders.

He sought to join the case through letter.
