LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan told the JIT that his party officials were not participating in the May 9 riots but others were.
The five-member high-ranking JIT is investigating the May 9 nationwide rampage after an anti-terrorism court granted authorisation.
The JIT questioned the PTI chief, who is serving a three-year sentence for the Toshakhana case, in other sedition and anti-terror cases at the Attock jail.
According to well-placed sources, the PTI chairman changed his mind on May 9 again. The whole JIT, including DIG Imran Kishore, questioned Khan.
The team informed the former premier that there was proof of instigating violence on May 9 during the interrogation.
While, He said, “I was arrested and did not provoke anyone by calling them.”
Moreover, The JIT said they have footage of demonstrators naming Imran Khan.
“I did not urge anyone; everyone went to the cantonment on their own. The rioters not my party members “Told the JIT.
A day earlier, the JIT questioned Imran Khan about adding sections 121 (waging or attempting to wage war or abetting waging of war against Pakistan), 131 (abetting mutiny, or attempting to seduce a soldier, sailor, or airman from duty), and 146 (rioting) to the FIR.
Khan was questioned on sections 120, 120-A, 120-B, 121-A, 505, 153, 153-A, 153-B, and 107 of the PPC for his alleged involvement in attacks on Askari Tower, Shadman police station, and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) offices in Lahore’s Model Town and Jinnah House, the corps commander’s residence.

While, The police added the provisions on August 18 to the case notebook and notified the anti-terrorism court to investigate Khan for the violence.
The police requested an order from Judge Ejaz Ahmad Buttar.
