Webdesk: Zeenat Aman puts up another helpful post about parenting on her Instagram account.
The veteran posted a picture of her children, Azaan and Zahaan, when they were young in 1990. She also wrote a long note about being a parent.
“There is no book in the world that can really prepare you for being a parent,” she said. It’s thrilling, overwhelming, happy, and yes, hard.’
Zeenat wrote: “Once my kids born, they the only thing I cared about. And since I was a single mom with two boys. I felt like I had to take care of them twice as much. I wanted to protect them and teach them to be kind, loving men more than anything else. My way of being a mother has always been based on unconditional love. I think this is what all of us who choose to be parents owe to our kids.”
“When I hear about parents who don’t accept their kids because of things like their sexuality, choice of partner, or dream job, I feel sad and angry. We need to accept our kids for who they are and help them live their lives the way they want to.”
She wrote more: “My boys are now strong adults in their thirties, and I feel like I barely had time to catch my breath during their childhood. So, if you’re a new parent, here are some optional pearls of wisdom. Enjoy as much time as you can with your babies, and don’t worry about the little things. A broken plate here or a note from a teacher there doesn’t mean that the world is coming to an end. We don’t owe our kids perfection. What we do owe them is love, support, and direction.”
