Islamabad: The top leaders of the Pakistan Army have said that the fact that terrorists from the banned TTP and other groups like them have safe havens and freedom to act in Afghanistan is one of the main things that threatens the security of Pakistan.
The statement made after the 258th Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC), which led by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir and held at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Monday.
The military’s media wing put out a statement that said, “The terrorists of the banned TTP and other groups like them have safe havens and freedom of action in a neighbouring country. They have access to the latest weapons.” This was one of the main things that was hurting Pakistan’s security.
The ISPR said that the participants told in detail about the current state of internal security. They paid a lot of respect to the great sacrifices that the brave soldiers keep making.
At the conference, people talked in depth about the army’s operational readiness and training.
“Objective training is still a sign of our professionalism. We must always be ready to protect our national security,” Gen. Munir quoted as saying by the ISPR.
In the statement, the ISPR said that expected that the interim Afghan government would not let any country use its land to perform acts of terror against other countries. This in line with what agreed to in the Doha agreement.
“The involvement of Afghan nationals in acts of terrorism in Pakistan is another important concern that needs to be addressed,” the statement said.
The army promises to help the economy in any way it can
In the same meeting, the ISPR said that top officers told about the government’s plan to boost the economy and the role of the army in helping to improve the agriculture, information technology, mining and mineral, and defence production sectors under the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).
It said that the people who took part promised to help the government’s plans to revive the economy by giving all the technical and management help they could for the good of the people of Pakistan as a whole.
The federal government released a detailed “Economic Revival Plan” last month. The goal of the plan is to take advantage of Pakistan’s untapped potential in key areas. As well as speed up development projects, and make it easier for people to invest.
PM Shehbaz put General Munir on a group called the SIFC to help bring the economy back to life.
The PM leads the group, which also has federal officials as members. Adding the military to the group meant to help the government deal with the country’s economic problems.
