Joint parliament session to tackle crucial subjects today

ISLAMABAD: Today, a combined session of parliament and a separate National Assem­bly meeting will be held to examine crucial issues. Including the respect for state institutions.

The National Assembly will gather at noon, while the joint session will convene at 3 p.m. Senators from the PTI have also confirmed their attendance in the joint session.

According to an eight-point agenda announced for the joint session. The debate on a resolution introduced by the minister of parliamentary affairs at the last session will continue. The law and order situation will also be the subject of discussion.

On the table is also the question of defamation of state institutions and those linked with them. Foreign policy reviewed alongside the national economy, Kashmir, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

Climate change and population increase also included on the agenda for the joint session.

The National Assembly’s agenda includes a call-attention notice on human trafficking and another notice on the escalation of violent events against women in Islamabad.

Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb will introduce amendments to the Protection of Journalists and Media Professionals Act and the Press, Newspaper, and News Agency Registration Ordinance.
