Karachi: On February 17, 2015, Justice (retd) Baqar elevated from Sindh High Court chief justice to Supreme Court of Pakistan senior judge. He became Sindh’s top judge in September 2013. In April 2022, SC Justice Baqar retired.

Justice (retd) Baqar has often criticised the judiciary.
“I believe that despite our efforts, we have fallen short of expectations,” he said during his Supreme Court farewell statement. All courts are experiencing record delays and pendency. All parties should alarmed.
Moreover, He denounced judicial corruption after retirement. While, At the Karachi Literature Festival in February, Justice (retd) Baqar stated corruption existed in the judiciary and judges appointed based on nepotism, favouritism, and sacrifice of merit.
