Webdesk: There have been calls to ban The Kerala Story, but Kangana Ranaut, like many other actors, has come out in favour of the movie.
Kangana said that banning a movie like this that has already been approved by the CBFC is an insult to the constitution.
“It is an insult to the constitution to ban a movie that has been approved by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Some states’ decision to ban ‘The Kerala Story’ is wrong.”
She went on to say, “When a movie like The Kerala Story made, it makes people happy. These kinds of films help the movie business.”
The Kerala Story is one of the most controversial movies of 2023. On May 8, the West Bengal government stopped the movie, saying that it stirs up trouble between different groups. So, the Indian state of Tamil Nadu stopped showing the movie.
Later, the Supreme Court issued a stay order, which meant that the film could shown. It also said that the moviegoers should be safe.
Along with Kangana Ranaut, celebrities like Anurag Kashyap, Shabana Azmi, Ram Gopal Varma, and Adah Sharma gave the movie a lot of support.
News 18 says that even with all the uproar, The Kerala Story has made more than INR 200 crore in India.
