Karachi: The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) said that people in city might not have enough gas from August 12 to 23. It is because the Kunnar-Pasakhi Deep (KPD) gas field is being fixed.

The SSGC said, “There will be a shortage of 50 mmcfd from 12 to 15, and a severe shortage of 107 mmcfd from 16 to 23.” From 12 to 27, maintenance work will be done in the KPD gas field.

The SSGC also said that the port city’s gas supply would cut off from 23 to 27. Places at the end of the gas distribution system could also have a gas supply shortfall.

The gas transportation company also said that K-Electric (KE) had cut its gas use by 33%. The gas shortage might not be as bad as it could have been.

“KE had written that it would use 90 mmcfd,” the SSGC said. It also said that the power company had shut down a power plant or a unit because the weather good and 30 mmcfd of gas not needed.

“Consuming petrol whenever you want would cause problems in the future,” it said.
