Wales: The Royal Mint, Britain’s oldest company and the official maker of coins, has made a gold bar with a picture of the Kaaba, the holiest place in Islam, for the country’s Muslim community. This is a tribute as the time for Ramadan is nearby.
Muslim Council of Wales helped during the making of this 20-gram bar, Arab News reported.
Zawya says that the price of the 20g gold bar from the Kaaba (999.9 Fine Gold) starts at £1,112.58.
Andrew Dickey, the director of precious metals at the Royal Mint, said, “We’ve used our more than 1,100 years of experience to make a beautiful picture of the Kaaba, which is the holiest place on earth for many Muslims.”
“This Kaaba gold bar comes in beautiful protective packaging with an Islamic theme. It makes a great gift, and our customers can give the precious gift of gold on Eid Al Fitr or as a safe investment because it contains 999.9g of fine gold.”
The National says that as part of the launch, the Royal Mint gave three of the bars to help raise money for the victims of the 7.8-magnitude earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria last month. Because of the natural disaster, more than 50,000 people lost their lives.
Mr. Dickey said, “Ramadan is a time for giving, so we’re proud to have helped Islamic Relief, a leading Muslim charity, by donating Kaaba gold bars at three UK events and raising more than £9,000.”
