Webdesk: After missing the Qatari-owned club’s season opener against Lorient, Kylian Mbappe returned to first-team training Sunday.
The 24-year-old in contract dispute with Paris St-Germain and wanted to join Real Madrid. He can now renew his French club deal.
Kylian Mbappe rejoined PSG after “very constructive and positive” talks.
French captain watched Saturday’s game from the stands.
The French forward has one year left on his contract and has refused to sign a new one.
PSG allowed Saudi Arabian team Al-Hilal to meet with the player last month after making a world-record £259m bid.
After a 12-hour negotiation, he returned to the first team.
PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi has been insistent he would not let the striker leave for nothing, and it is expected an arrangement will see Mbappe sign the one-year extension to his current deal as initially planned.
PSG may sell Mbappe to Real next summer with a 2025 contract.
“Following very constructive and positive discussions between Paris St-Germain and Kylian Mbappe before the PSG-Lorient game, the player has been reinstated into the first team training squad this morning,” PSG said Sunday.
Mbappe, who joined PSG in 2017 on loan from Monaco before a 180m euro (£165.7m) purchase, has a club record 212 goals in 260 games.
Saturday’s offensive struggles against Lorient may have softened PSG’s view of their all-time best scorer.
Even though he just played a friendly against Le Havre two months ago, the French forward is available for the August 19 trip to Toulouse.
