LHC orders Yasmin Rashid’s release.

Lahore: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) got another break on Saturday when the Lahore High Court (LHC) stopped Dr. Yasmin Rashid from being held in jail.

At Lahore’s highest court, Justice Safdar Saleem Shahid heard the petition and said, “Dr. Yasmin Rashid should freed if not wanted in any way.”

In a separate meeting, the LHC also stopped holding 17 other female PTI workers.

Rashid arrested yesterday under section three of the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO). Because the police crackdown on PTI leaders didn’t seem to slowing down, and raids done in Islamabad and Lahore because party fans were getting more violent.

The former minister was hiding to escape being caught, confirmed Andaleeb Abbas.

“Two days ago, police took her close family members into prison. But her husband was let go when his health got worse. The cops still have her brother-in-law in custody.

Rashid was charged with a number of crimes, one of which was an attack on the home of the Lahore Corps Commander.
