Nawaz Sharif

Lahore: Nawaz Sharif, the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), cleared by an accountability court in a 37-year-old private property case brought by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

Judge Rao Abdul Jabbar gave the decision after the lawyer for the former prime minister said that NAB unfair when filed the reference against his client.

The lawyer also said that the case did not fit the new law. Also, the lawyer said that all the other people who charged in the case had already found not guilty. Even a person who had declared guilty could cleared if there wasn’t enough proof.

The NAB didn’t have any problems with Nawaz Sharif found not guilty. After hearing what the lawyers had to say, the court found the former prime minister not guilty.

NAB said that when the former premier was the chief minister of Punjab, he gave away 54 one-kanal plots in Block-H, Johar Town, Lahore, without permission. It said that by giving out the land, the suspects had caused the government to lose Rs143 million.
