Karachi: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicted partly cloudy weather and light rain in Karachi on Tuesday.
The PMD reported a maximum temperature of 33°C or 35°C and a minimum of 24°C in the metropolis.
The department reported 7–11 kph northwest winds and 63% humidity.
Chief Meteorologist Dr. Sardar Sarfaraz predicted rain in the metropolis today but less rain from Wednesday onward.
The Karachi rain spell would end before the Pak vs NZ One Day International matches, he added.
He predicted rain in Karachi suburbs Sarjani Town, Hub, Gadap, Bahria Town, and Gulshan-e-Hadeed today.
After today, Sindh’s chances of rain will decrease.
Karachi may have a dry spell with higher temperatures until mid-May.
Karachi has expected rain for days. Yesterday, weather expert Jawad Memon said the western wind system is affecting the country as it moves from Sindh to South Punjab.
The expert added that while thunderclouds may form away from Karachi on Monday, rain is likely on Tuesday.
He predicted rain and thunder today (Tuesday) afternoon or evening.
The PMD had warned of rain from April 26 to May 1.
“A westerly wave is likely to enter the country from April 26 (evening/night) and likely to spread in central and southern parts of the country and may persist till first week of May,” the PDM tweeted.
Dadu, Jamshoro, Qambar Shahdadkot, Larkana, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Sukkur, Ghotki, Khairpur, Naushahro Feroz, Shaheed Benazirabad, and Sanghar districts will also experience thunderstorms and hailstorms.
TM Khan, TA Yar, Hyderabad, Mityari, Mirpur Khas, Umerkot, Tharparker, Badin, Thatta, Sujawal, and Karachi division can also expect light to moderate rain with isolated heavy falls.
