Protest

LAHORE: The Pakistan Peoples Party has ordered party workers to protest. As well as become the “people’s voice” after rising electricity bills shocked consumers.

Syed Nayyer Hussain Bokhari ordered workers to demonstrate at city union council and tehsil levels on Sunday.

“The PPP workers should become the voice of people. As well as start protesting against inflated electricity tariffs,” he added. Saying that every resident upset about high electricity bills.

Protesters everywhere demand a reduction in electricity pricing and the removal of additional levies on utility bills. Threatening to not pay if the demands not realised.

Citizens and traders protested the electricity bill hike and other taxes in numerous cities. With political groups like MQM-P and JI criticising it.

Amir Sirajul Haq also declared a “peaceful” nationwide demonstration on September 2 (Saturday).

He urged people to fight injustice and that the party would hold rallies outside the Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) if the government persisted.

Siraj-ul-Haq claimed that the current inflation caused by the poor economic strategy of former PDM, PTI, and PPP governments.

Moreover, He stated the old rulers’ IMF agreement laid landmines for citizens.
