Islamabad: Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman, a religious expert and former Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee chairman, said that the minimum Sadqa-e-Fitr donation for this year is Rs320.

The Islamic Shariah bases the rate on staple foods such flour, dates, raisins, cheese, and barley.

Sadqa-e-Fitr is important because it helps the needy, especially during Eidul Fitr. Muslims can bless their community and Allah Almighty by helping the destitute and needy during Eid-ul-Fitr.

Mufti Muneeb calculates Fitrana at Rs320 per head based on the market price of 2.25 kilograms of flour. Fitrana equal to barley and dates costs Rs480 and Rs2,800 per head.

Fitrana at the rate of raisin costs Rs6,400 for first-class dates and Rs4,800 for second-class raisin.

Before Eid prayers, Muslim food hoarders must pay Sadqa-e-Fitr.

The earner should pay Sadqa-e-Fitr for his dependents, such as wife, children, relatives, and servants.

Mufti Muneeb advocated paying the needy before EidulFitr so they could rejoice. Family, neighbors, and the impoverished deserve Sadqa-e-Fitr.

Mufti Munibur Rehman advised paying a hotel’s supper expense because Fitr and Fidya’s true spirit is feeding an impoverished person twice.

In this era of rising inflation, the rich should help the poor more.

If someone couldn’t fast for the whole month of Ramadan, they had to pay Friday’s compensation of Rs9,600 for flour, Rs14,400 for barley, Rs 84,000 for dates, Rs192,000 for first-class raisin, and Rs144,000 for second-class.

Kufara (compensation) for leaving 30 fasts in wheat is Rs19,200, wheat Rs28,800, barley Rs168,000 dates, first class raisin Rs384,000, and second class Rs2,88,000.

Kufara in wheat costs Rs3,200, barley Rs4,800, dates Rs28,000, raisin Rs64,000 first class and Rs48,000 second class.
