PTI petitions ECP against Section 144 in Lahore; CEC Raja calls meeting tomorrow.

Islamabad: Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja has convened a meeting of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). ECL called said meeting to address PTI’s apeals. PTI filed appeals against the “illegal imposition” of Section 144 and the prohibition on the party’s rallies in Lahore.

Moreover, The election monitor said in a tweet today that the meeting will be conducted tomorrow at 10:30 a.m.

Moreover, Imran Khan organized a new demonstration for today in Lahore, days after the interim government suppressed the party’s March 8 election rally.

In the aftermath of a PSL match, the district administration quickly invoked Section 144 to prohibit public gatherings.

Afterward, the PTI petitioned the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) offices in Islamabad and Lahore, arguing that the installation of Section 144 should be deemed null and illegal.
