LAHORE: Police arrested 37 Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers from Zaman Park for violating Section 144 in Lahore on Wednesday.

Police arrested party workers while they were preparing for a gathering to launch PTI’s election campaign.

Punjab government had earlier banned public gatherings and assemblies in Lahore ahead of the Aurat March and PTI rally.

Punjab Home Department issued a notification banning rallies, sit-ins, and other public gatherings in the city under Section 144.

The warning noted that everyday rallies and protests in Lahore pose severe security dangers, obstruct traffic, and disturb the public.

It also noted a history of terrorist activity in rallies/protests that embarrassed shahadat.

Meanwhile, Qalam Club got lists of arrested PTI workers

Moreover, A spokesperson to Lahore Police claimed that during clashes with PTI workers 11 personnel got injuries.
