Lahore: Local media reported on Saturday that the police cracked down on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers. It is ahead of tonight’s public gathering at Minar-e-Pakistan, blocking some roads.

On Twitter, PTI Chairman Imran Khan urged Lahore supporters to join the “break all records” jalsa after Taraweeh prayers.

Imran Khan will discuss “Haqeeqi Azadi” and how to fix the “cabal of crooks” mess.

Khan stressed that the people’s right to a jalsa will be thwarted by the government.

“Everyone must assert their right. As people of a free nation that won its independence & come to Minar I Pakistan,” he added.

The district administration has allowed the PTI to stage a gathering at the Minar-e-Pakistan tonight. But containers placed on some routes, including Lahore’s entrance and exit routes.

Moreover, Containers are in Shah Alam Market and Ravi Bridge and Railway Station paths to Minar-e-Pakistan.

According to the reports police detained over 50 PTI workers in Rahim Yar Khan. 26 workers detained in Multan, including Javed Akhtar Ansari’s son.

Moreover, The PTI said numerous Lodhran and Bhakkar workers were detained.

In his election campaign, the former prime minister promised a “historic” public assembly at Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore on March 19.

While, The Lahore High Court (LHC) barred the PTI from organising a protest and ordered it to allow residents go about their business. Imran Khan announced another power show on March 22 at the same site.
