Lahore: Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Usman Anwar denied again that Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Police and Punjab Police fought outside of Imran Khan’s Lahore home in Zaman Park.

On Wednesday, Federal Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the Punjab police were trying to arrest PTI leader Imran Khan at his home in Lahore’s Zaman Park, while the GB police were trying to stop them.

Later, authorities moved Muhammad Saeed from his position as the IGP of GB, despite the fact that the IGP of Punjab had already declared the claims of a fight between police from the two provinces as “baseless.”

The IGP for Punjab told Dawn that there was no fight or confrontation with GB police anywhere in Zaman Park. He also said that GB police did not point their guns at Lahore police.

The IGP of Punjab, Anwar, denied this claim again today when he spoke to ARY News. He said, “Let me be clear: those who wear the uniform of the state do not fight each other.”

“The state is one unit, and all the institutions that wear uniforms will continue to protect every inch of the state. Anwar said, “I want to make it clear that no police force has ever or can go against the police of another province.”

“The government isn’t weak. The two groups of soldiers in Pakistan have not fought each other. This country is united, and the state is strong. All uniformed forces work together as a single unit.”

But he said that a chief minister’s or minister’s security detail was required to protect them.

Khalid Khurshid, the leader of GB, also denied the claims that Aurangzeb made in her speech.

“My own security officers who were there to protect me went there,” he said.
