Salman Khan wants OTT censorship to stop vulgarity, nudity, and abuse.

Webdesk: Salman Khan, a Bollywood actor, has called for OTT control to ensure age-appropriate content.

The actor stated that children and teenagers have access to such obscene content, which should be reviewed for appropriateness.

Salman also criticised performers who perform intimate sequences and expose themselves on TV, citing security concerns and arguing that India does not need to break certain bounds.

Saif Ali Khan, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Shahid Kapoor, and Manoj Bajpayee have all made their internet debuts in recent years and won critical praise. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, OTT has become increasingly popular, but Salman has yet to enter it.

Salman told Hindustan Times, “I really think there should be censorship on the medium [OTT]. Stop the vulgarity, nudity, and swearing. 15–16-year-olds can use it. Would you prefer your young daughter to watch? Just check OTT content. Cleaner content is preferable. Better viewership.”

Salman said, “You have done it all – love making, kissing and exposing in scenes. Your watchman has monitored your job when you enter your building. That’s not safe. No need… Crossing the boundary is unnecessary. In India. Finally, it was reduced. Good and decent stuff is being created now.”

Salman’s statements on digital media control have raised questions about Indian film industry governance. Some agree with him, but others say such control might impede creativity and storytelling. It emphasises the necessity for creative expression and responsible content production.
