Former Prime Minister and President of the Awami League, Sheikh Hasina, discussed her future course of action with her workers on social media.
According to Indian media, Sheikh Hasina Wazed, in her emotional conversation, said that if Allah has kept her alive so far, there must be a reason for it.
She further stated that the day will come when those who have wronged the Awami League workers will be brought to justice.
Sheikh Hasina Wazed severely criticized the Chief Advisor of the interim government, Mohammad Yunus, saying that a person who has taken small loans and gained great profits, living a luxurious life abroad, can never be a well-wisher of the people.
The former Prime Minister mentioned that they had also made the mistake of understanding Mohammad Yunus, and even helped him, but later realized that the benefits were not reaching the people.
She continued by saying that the same person, driven by the thirst for power, is now burning Bangladesh, which was once considered a model of development but has now become a “terrorist state.”
Sheikh Hasina Wazed stated that leaders, workers, lawyers, journalists, and artists from the Awami League are being targeted and killed one by one.
Criticizing the media restrictions, she said that news of crimes like rape, murder, and robbery cannot even be reported. If any media outlet dares to do so, they are targeted.
At one point, recalling the deaths of her father, Bangladesh’s first President Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and other family members, she became emotional and said, “I lost my mother, father, and brother all on the same day, and I wasn’t even allowed to return to the country.”
She said, “That’s why I know very well what it feels like to lose loved ones.”
She continued, “If Allah has kept me safe until now, maybe He wants to use me for something good. Those who have committed these atrocities will certainly face punishment. This is my promise.”
In offering condolences to the families of the slain Awami League leaders, Sheikh Hasina said, “These are not humans, they are beasts. Allah will not forgive them. Just as I brought the killers of my parents to justice, I will find the killers of your loved ones, and that day will surely come.”
Meanwhile, Mohammad Yunus, the head of the interim government, who is working towards Sheikh Hasina’s return from India, reiterated his demand to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the Bimstec summit.
In a statement, Mohammad Yunus claimed that Sheikh Hasina has been making provocative statements in the media and is trying to destabilize the country.
It is important to note that Sheikh Hasina Wazed was forced to flee to India on August 5, 2024, after a long student protest movement led to her stepping down from her 15-year rule.
Following her departure, the leadership of the interim government was assumed by Nobel laureate microfinance banker, Mohammad Yunus.
