Webdesk: Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes talked about the show.
The director told Sunday Sitdown, “I wrote a medical show that wasn’t what other people thought of as “right” medical shows.”
“It didn’t think it was that important. And it wasn’t about the patients; it was about how the doctors felt about the patients and their lives.”
The author also said that after becoming a mother, she became interested in television.
“All of a sudden, I wasn’t going anywhere,” the mother of three said. “I was also watching a lot more TV.” And I realised, “Oh, this is where all the real character growth happens.”
“At first, I wanted to be a doctor,” she said. I thought about being a lawyer. All of these things made me want to work in politics, but I finally realised, “No. None of those things are what I want to do. Just write about them, that’s all.”
Forbes said that Rhimes was the “self-proclaimed highest-paid showrunner in Hollywood.”
In her work, she has had hits like Bridgerton, Scandal, How to Get Away with Murder, Inventing Anna, and now Queen Charlotte.
