Sweden’s Quran desecration: Government announces nationwide rallies

Islamabad: The federal government will hold nationwide rallies on Friday (July 7) over the Swedish Quran burning.

The premier also called a joint parliament session to develop a Sweden strategy.

Moreover, The PM stated that parliament should convey the nation’s sentiments. The premier stated that the combined session will unanimously pass a resolution condemning Sweden’s recent holy book sacrilege.

While, After Pakistan’s request, the UN Human Rights Council held an urgent session on Islamophobia and religious hatred today amid global protests over Sweden’s Quran burning.

Moreover, A Geneva-based UN Council official said the session will tackle global religious hatred at a news conference.

Pakistan requested that the Geneva-based UN Human Rights Council hold an urgent debate.

According to the request, the UN Human Rights Council will hold an urgent debate to “discuss the alarming rise in premeditated and public acts of religious hatred, as manifested by the current desecration of the Holy Quran in some European and other countries,” spokesman Pascal Sim told reporters.
