Webdesk: Quentin Tarantino has said that the rise of streaming services is one of the reasons he is leaving the movie business.
In an interview with Deadline, the director who has won many awards said, “I mean, now is a good time because, I mean, what is a movie even anymore?” Is it something that only Apple shows? That would lead to less money, so he won’t make films for streaming services.
The director of “Inglourious Basterds” thought that streaming films are not well-known, and he used Ryan Reynolds’ work at Netflix as an example.
“I mean, and I’m not picking on anyone, but Ryan Reynolds has reportedly made $50 million for Netflix on this movie, $50 million on that movie, and $50 million on the next movie he makes for them. None of those films are familiar to me. I’ve never seen them. He asked, “Have you?”
The 60-year-old also said that he doesn’t think streaming films “exist in the zeitgeist,” adding, “It’s almost like they don’t even exist.”
The Movie Critic will be Tarantino’s last movie. It is about a journalist who writes for adult mags in the 1970s.
