TEHREEK-I-TALIBAN DENIES PLANS TO ASSASSINATE IMRAN KHAN

Peshawar, Pakistan – The outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has issued a statement refuting the claim made by former Prime Minister Imran Khan that people from South Waziristan had been tasked with killing him.

In the statement, the TTP affirmed that its war is against the security forces and intelligence agencies, not against any political personality. The group stated that it has received information that the head of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) party claimed that an assassination attempt was being planned by the TTP, and that South Waziristan residents were involved in the task. The TTP called this claim “baseless” and similar to one made by some party members 10 days ago.

However, the group warned politicians that they could become targets of attacks if they became part of the war. The TTP’s denial of any plans to assassinate Imran Khan underscores its stance on political figures.

The statement has caused concern among political circles in Pakistan, with many calling for increased security measures for public officials. The situation remains tense as the TTP continues to wage its war against the security forces and intelligence agencies.
