Vehari: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) key Vice President Maryam Nawaz warned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan Friday that the “game is over” after key party members left.
She said that in an angry speech at the PML-N youth conference in Vehari. She spoke about May 9, when the PTI head was arrested and nationwide protests began.
Maryam stated there were signs of PTI politicians leaving, mocking the party.
Moreover, After the attacks on the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi and the Lahore Corps Commander’s House (Jinnah House), the security forces cracked down on the PTI, forcing its leaders to flee.
After the May 9 mayhem, around 70 attorneys and leaders left the PTI.
“How will the people stand when the leader himself is a jackal?” she asked of the former prime minister, who was ousted by a vote of no confidence last April.
“Your people are revealing that Imran Khan is the mastermind of May 9 [incidents]” she stated.
The PML-N senior vice president alleged Khan masterminded the May 9 “terrorism,” although his workers are facing anti-terrorism court.
She stated Khan covered Bushra Bibi and deployed other women as bodyguards. Khan and his wife arrived at the Lahore High Court on May 15 in the Al-Qadir Trust case wearing white sheets.
She advised against following this “fitna [Khan]”. The PML-N leader hailed the people for ending “fitna.”
Maryam said, “My heart sobs tears of blood over the tragedies that happened on May 9. Maryam dedicated the assembly to martyrs, their families, and widows.
“This terrorist plan was made in Zaman Park,” said Maryam, PML-N’s chief organiser, criticising the former prime minister. Pre-planned May 9 strikes.”
“Why didn’t the groups of people attack the shopping centre in front of the Corps Commander’s House?” she asked, suggesting that “mastermind” Khan had directed the demonstrators.
9 May incidents
The PML-N’s vice president called the May 9 event a “attack on Pakistan Army” and stated the former premier’s “facilitators” were helping him.
Maryam said that “a conspiracy was [hatched] to remove then-director general of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Asim Munir from his position” and that the PTI’s Azadi March last year was intended to prevent his appointment as army chief.
The PML-N senior vice president added that thieves fear prison but politicians do not.
She said PML-N “does not believe in political victimisation” and blamed Khan of “great cruelties” in power.
Khan thought he might change the tide by dissolving the assemblies. He thought targeting army infrastructure would reverse the tide for his side.”
