Webdesk: Pirates of the Caribbean actor Vince Lozano suggested Johnny Depp may reprise Captain Jack Sparrow following his departure.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory star lost his legendary role when Amber Heard accused him of domestic assault.
Disney said they wanted to introduce “new energy” to the current film in the series, although reports suggest the actor may return in the sixth sequel.
Lozano told Movieweb, “I think he deserves another shot as Jack, but I don’t think it’s going to happen.”
“Many stories are being told. The audience exists. I do a lot of pirate conferences, and there’s a whole subculture of pirates who love Johnny, he said.
Moreover, At his blockbuster libel case trial against Heard in the US, Depp vowed he would never return to the Disney film.
Depp was asked by Heard’s counsel, “If Disney came to you with $300 million dollars and a million alpacas, nothing on this earth would get you to go back and work with Disney on a Pirates of the Caribbean film?”
“That is true,” Depp stated before adding, “Two years of global coverage of me as a wife-beater. Disney was probably cutting ties to be safe.”
“The #MeToo movement was in full swing. No one removed my character from rides. They kept selling Captain Jack Sparrow dolls, he said.
“Nothing stopped selling. Depp claimed they didn’t want to find anything behind me.
