Webdesk: In One Day Internationals (ODIs), Pakistan’s openers Babar Azam and Imam-ul-Haq tied with Younis Khan and Mohammad Yousuf for the most runs scored by a pair.

In ODI cricket, Babar and Imam have been a great team together over the years.

They have scored a lot of runs together, and now they have tied the record set by Yousuf and Younis, two of Pakistan’s most famous cricket players.

Like Yousuf and Khan, Babar and Imam scored a tonne for the country nine times.

Let’s look at some of Pakistan’s other 100 partnerships (ODIs):

Eight times: Inzamam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Yousuf; seven times: Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq.
Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman — six times
Inzamam-ul-Haq, Saleem Malik — six times
Mohammad Yousuf, Shoaib Malik — six times
Pakistan won the ODI series against New Zealand for the first time in 12 years on Tuesday when they beat them by 26 runs in the third match in Karachi.

Imam-ul-Haq got 90 runs in 107 balls, and Babar Azam got 54 runs in 62 balls for his 26th half-century in ODIs. This helped Pakistan get to 287-6 in 50 overs.

Pakistan took an unbeatable 3-0 lead in the five-match series after winning the first two games in Rawalpindi by five and seven wickets, respectively.

“It’s always nice to win a series when everyone works well together,” said Babar. “We made a good score, and then the bowlers did a great job.

“The goal now is to not get too comfortable and start strong in the next two games. Hopefully, we can keep giving our all.”

Friday and Sunday, in Karachi, are the last two games.

Pakistan last beat New Zealand in an ODI series in 2011, and since then they have lost six of the seven series and drawn one.
