Webdesk: The International Cricket Council (ICC) puts Pakistan’s ODI team as the second best in the world. If they beat Afghanistan 3-0 in the three-match series this month, they will move up to the top spot.
But if the Men in Green lose even one of the three games, they will fall to third place.
From August 22 to 26, Afghanistan will welcome Pakistan in Sri Lanka. On August 22 and 24, they will play the first two ODIs in Hambantota. On August 26, they will journey to Colombo for the last ODI.
Team Pakistan will get together on August 17 in Sri Lanka, and they will train on August 19, 20, and 21.
There have been four ODIs between the two teams, and Pakistan has won all of them. In this version, they last played against each other at the 2019 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.
After the ODI series against Afghanistan is over, the home team will keep getting ready for their first Asia Cup 2023 match, which will be against Nepal on August 30 in Multan.
After playing Nepal, Pakistan will go back to Sri Lanka for their second match of the event, which will be against archrivals India on September 2 in Kandy.
There will be as many as nine games in Sri Lanka, and the final will be on September 17.
Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka are all in the same group. India, Pakistan, and Nepal are in the other group.
