Islamabad: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has written to the European Union, US House of Representatives, British House of Lords. As well as international human rights organizations about the attack on Imran Khan and violence against legislators and activists.
Moreover, Former National Assembly speaker and part leader Asad Qaiser has written to the US House of Representatives. House of Lords, EU, IPU, CPA, and human rights organizations on behalf of the PTI. He asked them to address government violence against MPs and workers. Take note and oppose the government’s actions.
“As a former speaker, I wish to draw awareness of human rights atrocities in Pakistan,” Qaiser wrote.
“After political horse-trading, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf decided on a fresh mandate and resigned from the house.”
While, He wrote in the letters that the caretaker governments in KP and Punjab committed serious human rights breaches. Govt took these measures to silence political workers. “False criminal cases filed to remove former prime minister Imran Khan from politics with homicidal attacks as 11 shots fired and 127 complaints registered against him.”
Arshad Sharif Murdered
Moreover, Qaiser said in letters that workers tortured and the former prime minister’s house attacked multiple times. “Notorious journalist Arshad Sharif murdered while his mother awaits justice. Punjab killed PTI worker Zille Shah. Imran charged with murdering his activist Ali Bilal aka Zille Shah.
The letters read, “The existing Pakistan Democratic Movement administration has blackmailed the supreme judiciary of Pakistan through bogus audios and videos.
“If the [incumbent] government’s acts are not stopped, attempts will be made to unconstitutionally outlaw the PTI.”
Qaiser claimed in his letters that the Election Commission of Pakistan unconstitutionally postponed polls in two provinces despite Supreme Court rulings.
Qaiser further referenced PML-N Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz who called political workers ugly and prejudiced. The former speaker implored them to “end the political slaughter of the Pakistani people” and “the erosion of democracy”.
