Webdesk: Fox 5 reported that the US Geological Survey said a series of earthquakes of different sizes hit the South El Centro area of California on Saturday. However, no damage has reported.
At 5:07 a.m., a quake with a magnitude of 4.1 happened. The USGS says it was about 6.5 miles deep. Its centre was about 2 miles from the California town of Heber.
At 5:09 a.m., two minutes later, a 3.4-magnitude quake reported in the same area, but this time it was 4.2 miles deep.
According to data from the USGS, the third one happened 1 mile from Heber at 7:48am and had a magnitude of 3.0. This one went down 6,3 miles.
At 8:05, 17 minutes after the last one, a 2.5 magnitude quake hit 1 mile from Heber. The USGS says that it was 6.6 miles deep.
On Friday, a 3.0 magnitude earthquake hit the same area near El Centro. These tremors happened less than 24 hours later.
On Thursday, a 3.1 magnitude earthquake was reported in the rural East County area of Ocotillo Wells.
The Los Angeles Times says that between 3.0 and 4.0 magnitude earthquakes happen on average 234 times per year in California and Nevada.
