Webdesk: The Writers Guild of America strike has slowed down the production of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight, the new version of Game of Thrones.
In a post on his blog, George R. R. Martin said that the fiction show has put on hold because of the writers’ strike.
He wrote, “The writer’s room for A KNIGHT OF THE SEVEN KINGDOMS: THE HEDGE KNIGHT now closed for good.”
The writer said, “[Showrunner] Ira Parker and his amazing group of young talent are on the picket lines.”
But a second predecessor to House of the Dragon is on its way to being finished now that the scripts for season two are ready.
“Dragon started filming on April 11 and will continue in London and Wales,” and “The scripts for the eight Season 2 episodes were all done months ago, before the strike started.”
Every episode has gone through four or five draughts and many rounds of revisions to meet HBO notes, my notes, budget concerns, etc. There won’t be any more changes. The writers have done their jobs; now it’s up to the directors, cast, and crew… and the dragons, of course.”
