Lahore: PTI Chairman Imran Khan paid over Rs1.4 million in “luxury tax” for his Zaman Park property in Lahore on Monday.

The PTI head received a luxury tax notice from Punjab’s Excise and Taxation Department today and must pay it today.

Since his murder attempt in Wazirabad on November 3, 2022, the former prime minister has been recovering in Zaman Park, where he paid Rs1,440,000 in taxes.

The notification sent despite the tax deadline being May 22.

The Excise and Taxation Department stated the PTI chief’s old Zaman Park mansion razed and replaced with a new residence owned by him and his sisters.

Khan sent the taxation department a house record last month. The provincial tax collecting body gave the former prime minister a luxury tax challan costing Rs1,440,000 after estimation.

The late Shaukat Khanum’s mother received a luxury residence tax notice last month.

Moreover, Khan ordered to pay Rs3.6 million in luxury tax arrears. The Excise and Taxation Department sent ETO Adeel Amjad and Inspector Amna Rashid to Zaman Park to give the notice, sources said.

The notice served in the name of Imran Khan’s late mother’s Zaman Park property. Cancer killed his housewife mother in 1985. She owns it.

Two excise and revenue officers went to Zaman Park to give the notification. The tax agency says the PTI chief owes Rs3.6 million. If the notice was not complied with, the Election Commission of Pakistan will be contacted.
