Webdesk: Avatar, The Last Airbender has been in the works for a long time, but Netflix just showed the first look at the live-action show and said it will debut in 2024.
The news was shared at Netflix’s Tudum event, where the title video showed different parts of Avatar.
It was also shown what the main characters would look like.
Gordon Cormier was Aang, Kiawentiio was Katara, Ian Ousley was Sokka, and Dallas Liu was Zuko.
Since 2018, work has been going on to make a live-action version of Avatar.
“We’ll be adding to and growing the world, and both longtime fans and newcomers will find surprises,” said the story’s author, Kim.
“But throughout this process, our catchphrase has been ‘authenticity.’ To the plot. For the people. To the ways culture shapes people. Authenticity is what keeps us going, both in front of and behind the camera. That’s why we’ve put together a team like no other — a group of skilled and passionate artists who work around the clock to bring this rich and incredibly beautiful world to life.
Also, Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, the show’s original producers and showrunners, left the production in 2020.
Avatar will also be seen in motion in a full-length animated movie in 2025.
