Webdesk: The latest WhatsApp update adds two fascinating features.
WABetaInfo stated that WhatsApp is now letting iOS users share HD videos after HD images.
iOS users may now share higher-quality photographs by keeping their dimensions.
“When a photo is sent by using this feature, a new tag is added to the message bubble, highlighting that it is a high-quality photo,” the WhatsApp news tracker said.
Some video senders noticed the same tag. Users had little influence over this automated process with unknown details.
Moreover, Some iOS WhatsApp beta testers may try sending high-quality videos after installing the latest version.
WABetaInfo’s snapshot shows the HD option when sharing videos. This option retains video dimensions, preserving media quality. Video compression remains modest.
“This means that this option doesn’t allow users to share videos in their original quality” but users can be confident of superior quality.
Since “standard quality” is always the default choice, users must always choose high-quality when sending videos to enjoy the feature.
As shown in the screenshot, the chat message box will label the shared video as high-quality. This will also help recipients recognise the higher-quality video.
While, The feature does not currently apply to WhatsApp status update videos.
“The application still needs changes because, despite the choice for videos, the text still refers to photos. “An update should explain videos correctly,” WABetaInfo stated.
The instant messaging software is now adding profile icons to group chats.
Specifically, contacts without profile photographs have had their thumbnails updated.
“Help other participants in the conversation quickly identify the person represented by the thumbnail” using the updated thumbnails.
TestFlight users can get the update.
