Lahore: Pakistan will host four Asia Cup matches in Multan and Lahore, according to Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President Jay Shah.
Pakistan, the Asia Cup host, will play Nepal on August 30 in Multan to start the competition.
Moreover, Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore will host the other three Pakistani games. One will be a Super 4s match.
While, The final scheduled for September 17 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
On September 2, Kandy, Sri Lanka will host Pakistan-India’s group encounter. Nepal is with the archrivals. Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka form another group.
Shah, the BCCI secretary, tweeted the tournament schedule minutes before the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) scheduled to release it.
“Pleased to announce the schedule for the highly anticipated Men’s ODI #AsiaCup2023, a symbol of unity and togetherness binding diverse nations! “Let’s celebrate cricketing excellence and cherish our bonds,” Shah tweeted.
The ACC accepted PCB Management Committee chairman Najam Sethi’s hybrid Asia Cup format earlier this year.
Moreover, The hybrid approach splits the Asian event into two sections, one in Pakistan and one in Sri Lanka.
Last week in Durban, South Africa, Sethi’s successor Zaka Ashraf and Shah completed the itinerary.
