Bajur: At the workers’ gathering in Bajaur’s Khar on Sunday, a suicide bomber killed at least 40 people. Including a local Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader.
Caretaker Information Minister Feroze Jamal Shah Kakakhel told that the explosion that happened during a JUI-F leader’s speech hurt more than 200 people.
The district emergency officer said that the hurt also moved to Timergara and Peshawar.
Akhtar Hayat Khan, in charge of police in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), said that the blast caused by a suicide bomber. He also said that 10 kg of explosives used and that ball bearings found at the scene of the crime.
He also said that the teams looking into what happened gathering evidence at the blast spot.
Major General Noor Wali Khan,IG of the FC, has gone to Bajaur to keep an eye on things. At the same time, CMH Peshawar has been put on high alert.
Abdul Jalil Khan, a spokesman for JUI-F Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that the explosion happened around 4pm.
The provincial spokesperson said that Senator Abdul Rasheed and JUI-F MNA Maulana Jamaluddin were also at the gathering. He said that Tehsil Khar Amir Maulana Ziaullah of JUI-F was among the dead.
JUI-F leader Fazl wants an investigation
Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the leader of the JUI-F, asked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and KP Caretaker Chief Minister Azam Khan to look into what happened.
Fazl condemned the blast and said a prayer for the people who hurt and the higher-ranking people who had died.
He also told people who worked for his party to go to the hospital and give blood.
“JUI workers should stay calm, and the federal and provincial governments should make sure that those whos hurt get the best care possible,” Fazl said.
PM calls Fazl and Asad. In a phone call with JUI-F leader Fazl and Federal Minister for Communications Maulana Asad Mahmood, PM Shehbaz talked about how sad he about what happened and the people who died.
As the country works to end terrorism, the prime minister promised that the criminals would brought to justice.
The prime minister also prayed for the people who died in the explosion.
Condemnations
The PM told the chief secretary and the IG police that the best medical services should be made available. He also gave orders for helicopters to take the badly hurt to other hospitals.
He also told them to look into the situation and punish those who involved.
People upset about what happened. The caretaker chief minister of Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, said that the country is united against terrorism and will end it through the power of unity.
“Those who play with the lives of innocent people don’t deserve to be called human,” he said.
Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Sirajul Haq also said that the bombing was wrong and that it was done to cause chaos in the country.
He also said that the terrorists and those who help them will not be able to do what they want to do.
Haque also asked the government to start looking into what happened right away.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), said that the federal and local governments should go after those who help terrorists.
Bilawal sent his apologies to the families of the dead and said that the terrorists who planned the attacks need to be killed.
