Quetta: A meeting between current Balochistan CM Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo and Leader of the Opposition Malik Sikandar Khan ended without a decision on the caretaker chief minister.
Today, the third day since Governor Malik Abdul Wali Kakar signed the summary moved by CM Bizenjo, is the last day to finalise the name.
The Balochistan Assembly disbanded the provincial cabinet, although CM Bizenjo would remain in office till the caretaker chief minister appointed.
Sources say CM Bizenjo and Sikandar met in Islamabad on Monday night to discuss the Balochistan Assembly’s dissolution.
This gathering included other Balochistan Awami Party leaders, sources said.
Sources say opposition leader Sikandar nominated veteran legislator Engineer Mohammad Usman Badini. The discussion ended without a conclusion because the administration refused to agree on his name.
According to Geo News, the opposition leader expects another meeting with the incumbent chief minister this morning (Tuesday) to finalise a name.
BAP leaders met till late Monday night.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and MQM-P Opposition Leader Rana Ansar have decided on Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqar, who will be sworn in tomorrow (August 16).
On February 17, 2015, Justice (retd) Baqar elevated from Sindh High Court chief justice to Supreme Court of Pakistan senior judge.
