QUETTA: A two-member panel of the Balochistan High Court (BHC) dismissed a first information report (FIR) designating PTI Chairman Imran Khan in the murder of prominent Supreme Court counsel Abdul Razzaq Shar on Monday.

The court, led by BHC Chief Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan and Justice Gul Hasan Tareen, annulled the murder charge. Courtx suspended Khan’s arrest warrant on the Insaf Lawyers Forum (ILF) request.

“Alhamdulillah, the court dismissed the FIR registered against Imran Khan in Bijli Road police station in Quetta. Once again Imran Khan vindicated in a false case. Congratulations to all Pakistan on the victory of justice,” Khan’s lawyer Naeem Haider Panjutha wrote on X, formerly

The deposed prime minister charged with murdering a senior SC lawyer on Airport Road in Quetta, Balochistan in June.

On the complaint of the dead lawyer’s son, Advocate Siraj Ahmed, in Quetta, Khan and others were charged with murder, ATA, and other provisions.

Khan petitioned the Supreme Court to invalidate the FIRs against him, and the court stopped the authorities from arresting him.

The Supreme Court maintained its stay order against PTI chairman’s arrest in murder case last week. A three-member court led by Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial heard the petition against Khan’s FIR inclusion.

Before his assassination, Razzaq filed a court petition for Khan to face treason charges for unconstitutionally dissolving the National Assembly after losing a vote of confidence in April 2022.
