Kabul: The Afghan Taliban have released American national Faye Hall, who was detained earlier this year. According to sources, arrangements for her return to the United States are currently underway.

Former U.S. Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad confirmed that Faye Hall has been handed over to Qatari authorities, where she underwent a medical examination, and her health was declared stable. However, the U.S. State Department has yet to issue a statement on the matter.

Reports indicate that Faye Hall was arrested in February and was released on Thursday with Qatar’s mediation. She has been transferred to the Qatari embassy in Kabul and is expected to depart for the United States soon.

Furthermore, Hall was detained alongside a British couple, Barbie and Peter Reynolds, who have been running educational projects in Afghanistan for the past 18 years. However, there has been no official update regarding their release.
