Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan has arrived in Washington to finalize preparations for U.S. President Donald Trump’s expected visit to Saudi Arabia.
Sources close to the Saudi government reveal that this would mark Trump’s first overseas trip during his second term, echoing his 2017 visit to Riyadh during his first presidency.
Prince Faisal’s visit aims not only to prepare for the state visit but also to discuss the regional crises in Gaza, Yemen, and Syria with senior U.S. officials.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, the foreign minister will meet U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio to discuss key regional and international matters, including major economic cooperation.
Earlier in January, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had announced a $600 billion investment in the United States. Trump had commented that Saudi Arabia could potentially spend up to $1 trillion on American companies, which would generate thousands of jobs.
Analysts suggest that Trump is likely to use this trip as an opportunity to revive and potentially finalize normalization talks between Saudi Arabia and Israel—an achievement he hopes to add to his diplomatic legacy.
