Lahore:
Over 17,000 Afghan children are reportedly living illegally across Punjab, creating a major identification challenge for local authorities.

According to police sources, Rawalpindi and Gujranwala are key hotspots. Rawalpindi alone hosts around 10,000 Afghan children, with over 7,400 of them remaining untraced.

Efforts to identify 2,270 children are ongoing in Gujranwala, while in Lahore, more than 1,000 Afghan minors are unaccounted for. Authorities believe many are living under false identities in various cities, and tracing operations are underway.
