Islamabad: The Ruet-i-Hilal Committee said that the moon of Ramadan spotted and the holy month commenced today.
The declaration made following a committee meeting in Peshawar. The chair was occupied by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad.
Maulana Azad stated that even though the weather was gloomy, Rahimyar Khan and Swabi had reported seeing the moon.
The district and zonal Ruet-i-Hilal committees also met at their respective headquarters.
Mufti Ali Asghar, Mufti Yousaf Kashmiri, Mufti Zameer Ahmad, and Maulana Abdul Malik Barohi among those present at the meeting held at the Auqaf department in Peshawar.
Maulana Azad told the media that the committee would attempt to ensure that the entire country observes Ramadan and Eid on the same day.
He asked to Allah to rescue Pakistan from the many crises facing the nation. May Allah set it on the path to prosperity and progress.
A local, unofficial committee, led by Mufti Shahabuddin Popalzai, met at the Mosque Qasim Ali Khan in Peshawar. Mufti Popalzai has not, however, made any announcement prior to the publication of this article.
