Webdesk: OpenAI took ChatGPT offline on Monday after it revealed subscribers’ payment information.
A few days ago, ChatGPT’s chat history was unavailable due to a bug that disclosed the discussions of other users. People began to recognise it and voiced their worries on channels such as Reddit and Twitter. The issue then validated by OpenAI.
In addition to leaking conversations, ChatGPT also revealed subscribers’ personal information.
According to The Verge, a flaw in the open source library redis-py caused a caching issue that resulted in the exposure of personal information to active users, including the last four numbers, expiration date, first and last name, email address, and payment address of another user’s credit card.
According to the firm, 1.2 percent of ChatGPT Plus users who accessed the service between 4 a.m. and 1 p.m. on March 20 may affected by the data leak.
The platform contacted users whose data compromised.
