Tennessee: A heavily armed former pupil massacred three young children and three employees. It happened at a Nashville private elementary school before being shot by police.
Police Chief John Drake identified the suspect as Audrey Hale, 28, a transgender woman.
The police chief told reporters that Hale left a manifesto, had maps of the school. Those maps were showing entry-exit points. As well as attacker “prepared for a confrontation with law enforcement” after the latest US gun carnage.
The manifesto “indicates that there was going to be shootings at multiple locations, and the school was one of them,” he told NBC News.
Hale approached The Covenant School, a Christian academy, from a side entry and shot through a door, authorities said.
While, Authorities identified the six victims as one eight-year-old, two nine-year-olds, and two 60-61-year-old adults.
Moreover, The academy’s website lists one victim, Katherine Koonce, as head of school.
Afterward, People put flowers at a makeshift memorial outside the school on Monday night after another horrific shooting killed youngsters. Some prostrated.
Gender confusion first surrounded the shooter. Police used “she” and “her,” but Hale’s LinkedIn profile indicated him as a man.
Officers arrived 15 minutes after receiving the first emergency call around 10am (1500 GMT) and engaged the shooter.
Children
Children left school holding hands on TV. A child cried through her yellow school bus window as it left the crime site.
Avery Myrick said her Covenant pre-kindergarten teacher mother hid during the shooting.
Myrick informed WSMV4, an NBC affiliate, that she was hiding in the closet, that there was gunshots, that they had perhaps tried to get into her room, and that she loved us.
In the US, where gun ownership has increased, school shootings are disturbing.
President Joseph Biden called the latest shooting “sick” and called gun violence “ripping the soul of this nation,” urging Congress to outlaw assault weapons.
