ISLAMABAD: Maryam Nawaz, the Senior Vice President and Chief Organizer of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, turned in her nomination papers and a list of her financial assets on Tuesday. The list shows that she has assets worth more than Rs840.89 million.
In her nomination papers, Maryam wrote that she has an MA in English literature. The Express Tribune has a copy of her nomination papers.
Maryam owes her brother Hasan Nawaz more than Rs20.89 million. Captain Safdar, who is married to Maryam, also owes Rs60 million to his friends.
In her nomination papers, it says that Maryam owns more than 1,400 kanals of land in the Raiwind area but has no property outside of the country.
Maryam has shown that in three years, she made more than Rs10.90 million from farming. Over the past three years, she has paid more than Rs1.2 million in income tax on agricultural land.
Maryam has bought shares in the Hudabiya Paper Mills worth more than Rs5.469 million. She bought shares in Muhammad Bakhsh Textile Mills for Rs4.821 million.
Maryam owns shares in Hamza Spinning Mills worth Rs1.6 million and shares in Junaid Poultry Farms worth Rs90,000.
The paperwork showed that Maryam didn’t have a car of her own.
