Islamabad: Friday, an Islamabad district and sessions court turned Imran Khan’s non-bailable arrest warrants in a case involving alleged threats to a judge into bailable warrants valid until April 18.

The PTI chairman was handed an arrest order without bail. That was on March 13 for failing to appear in court in the same matter. The following day, a district and sessions court in Islamabad suspended the same warrant.

On March 24, another lower court in Islamabad turned the non-bailable arrest warrant into a bailable one. In addition, the court denied the former premier’s request to extend the suspension of the aforementioned arrest warrant. Since Imran failed to appear in court on March 29. Islamabad court issued an arrest order for him without the possibility of bail.

Supplemental Sessions Today, while hearing a petition for review against the issuing of non-bailable arrest warrants, Judge Sikandar Khan turned non-bailable arrest warrants into bailable ones.

He also ordered the PTI chairman to provide Rs20,000 in surety bonds.

The solicitor representing Imran was Zakarya Arif. Instead of the investigating officer from Margalla Police Station, Subinspector Sagheer Ali appeared before the court with the case file.

Due to his involvement in an Anti-Terrorism Court, prosecutor Adnan Ali was unable to attend before the judge.
