Webdesk: Anurag Kashyap’s Kennedy will premiere at Cannes. Kashyap has shown numerous of his gritty, gloomy pictures at Cannes. The director posted the Kennedy poster on Instagram, starring Sunny Leone and Rahul Bhat.
Kashyap told Variety why he made his previous film Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat, a break from his regular manner. The director said he only does projects that fascinate him. After Psycho Raman, he locked up and created many scripts for others.
“I’ve liked everything I’ve done,” the filmmaker told Variety. “I won’t do what I don’t want. But sometimes in between, after Psycho Raman came a point where this whole Phantom [Kashyap and his partners’ shuttered company] drama happened, the lockdown happened, there were a lot of things going on.”
“I worked a lot on other people’s scripts,” he added. “I wrote a lot of other people’s scripts and the only one I wrote Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat, which an idea that came out of nowhere and I wanted to explore because I tired of people always expecting me to make another gangster movie. Why would I do it without something new and exciting?
Moreover, The love musical Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat starred Karan Mehta and Alaya F and explored modern young romances and their difficulties with age-old biases and predatory behaviours. Kashyap said he wanted to do something fresh and was weary of people anticipating another gangster movie.
While, On March 31, 2023, Netflix began broadcasting Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat. The film, presented by Good Bad Films and Zed Studios, has gotten positive reviews. Anurag Kashyap fans eagerly await Kennedy, which will premiere at Cannes.
