Peshawar: The ANP asked the Peshawar High Court on Thursday to form a judicial commission. It is to investigate Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan and former Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) director general Lt Gen (retd) Faiz Hamid for helping militants settle in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The plea also asked for specific steps to be taken right away to bring peace back to the province. As well as to the rest of the country. It also asked the court to stop more terrorists from moving into the area and spreading violence to other places.

ANP provincial leader Aimal Wali Khan filed the petition. Along with Khan and Lt Gen (retd) Faiz, President Dr. Arif Alvi, former KP chief minister Mahmood Khan, and former KP government spokesman Barrister Saif are named as respondents.

The federal government and the local government are also involved in the petition.

The petitioner said that Imran Khan and Faiz Hamid helped terrorists move into the country after terrorism was gone. He said that Imran had said in the media more than once that he had helped with the transfer.

The petition asked the chief judge of the PHC to look into who helped the Taliban move into the province in the past few years.

It said that peace had been returned thanks to the hard work and sacrifices of the police, other security forces, and the ANP government.

The writ case also asked for steps to stop militants from getting together and stopping terrorism from spreading in the province and the rest of the country.

ANP said that it had no choice but to ask the higher courts for quick action to bring peace back to KP and Pakistan and to find out who was behind the plot.
