Islamabad: Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah announced Saturday that the PTI must be banned. This statement came after three days of violent protests following Imran Khan’s imprisonment in the Al-Qadir Trust scandal,
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) banned the authorities from detaining the PTI head till May 15 (Monday).

Moreover, He warned the PDM-led coalition government would have to outlaw the opposition “if it did not change its attitude”.
While, Sanaullah claimed the PTI chairman merely wants to create confusion and anarchy in the country.
During the nationwide violent protests, he blamed Khan-led party workers and sympathizers for vandalizing public property and attacking military sites.
“The government will prosecute these ‘gangs’. He continued, “CCTV cameras will identify and apprehend them.”
Rana also criticized the courts for granting relief to the PTI head. He claimed the problem would have resolved without it.
Moreover, After visiting the Corps Commander House in Lahore, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif ordered the Punjab government to apprehend the vandals within 72 hours.
“I have given law enforcement apparatus a target of 72 hours to arrest all those involved in facilitating, abetting and perpetrating the disgraceful incidents of arson, ransacking, sabotage & damaging public & private properties,” the PM said after chairing a meeting at the Punjab Safe City Authority Headquarters in Lahore.
The two-day protests killed at least 10 people and injured scores. Internet connections blocked nationwide for nearly 72 hours.
The army called May 9, 2023, a “dark chapter” after supporters attacked army installations. Khan’s arrest had sparked nationwide unrest.
The army termed PTI leaders “hypocrites” for inciting their workers against the military and praising the military to deflect their criticism.
